My name is Lucie. I published a couple of audio books to learn foreign languages. I have a M.A. degree in marketing communication and now I work as a freelance tourist guide and a volunteer. I'll be happy to recommend you the great spots in town. I was born in Bratislava, live in Zlín have a dog named Lump, and I like good food and strong espresso in the afternoon.
I spent a couple of months in an international volunteer community in Iceland. Coming back home, I missed the cosmopolitan environment. That international experience made me, to decide to introduce some of local secrets to the foreigners. I planned tours and started to guide my friends, Bratislava expats, couchsurfers or my guests from Airbnb. That was a start and I have now enough experience to guide you.
Walking tour is a way how to know international people and let them know about our traditions, special meals and our culture. I appreciate the conversation with people outside our culture. It brings other point of view to our reality and it’s a source of fun and new information.
Meeting locals brings new dimension, which you don’t get with sightseeing. Also tasting of meals and drinks and conversation with locals is often imprinted in the memory much better than a paragraph in a baedeker. It is a platform for new friendships, I often stay in touch with my guests.
I write a blog in Slovak language, where are also articles about secret places or characteristics of Central European aborigines.
