It's a quick place to stop for a meal and/or drink on the Drive. There's also a patio (which are pretty hard to find in the city), and a fairly high turnover of tables. It's also open a bit later than most places on the drive.

Best bang for your buck pub in Yaletown. Centrally located on Robson near the Vancouver Public Library. Its small size allows for a more intimate ambiance and better overall service than most pubs in Vancouver. You will not be disappointed.

I once heard from a Japanese person that Vancouver is known in Japan for the sushi. This is the weirdest of the sushi places in Vancouver. It's also open late(er); therefore, it functions partly as a bar and partly as a place to eat. Also, the decor, and menu, is just so weird.

There are so many fun events. The Nerd Trivia Night (usually, on the first or second Wednesday of the month) is fun. They don't advertise it, so call ahead (other special events, like Game of Thrones screenings, are also common). Again, call ahead. The food is vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and meat friendly. Everyone is happy at StormCrow!

If you've checked out some of the typical downtown "Granville Street" clubs, or if you're finding a lot of bars downtown pretentious, Studio Records may be a great place for you to check out. According to their website, they are the first record store in North America to have a liquor licence. I

Excellent atmosphere and great beers on tap! There's always a seasonal rotating beer on tap and snacks from local businesses. The tasting room is an awesome open space to hang out. There is also an art gallery in the back room.

Some of the city's most well-known Italian restaurants, cafes and grocers are on Commercial drive. Though it's known as Vancouver's 'little Italy, the Drive has more than enough diversity to go around. If you're into great food, relaxed atmosphere and locals then the Drive is for you.

Conveniently located on Granville Island, this is a great addition to your trip to Granville island. There are rarely waits for tables (turnover is high - people usually just drop by). Also, you can buy bottled product at lower prices than at other stores.

Beer here is less expensive than at other places (note that no other drinks are served - if you hate beer/are allergic to beer, go somewhere else, or be kind and wait for your friends to have fun). Also, the craft beers in the Pacific Northwest, and Vancouver, are all delicately brewed, and delicious.

Here, you can sample, or buy, some delicious - and affordable - local craft beer. The prices are usually much lower than bars or liquor stores, and the atmosphere is - like most of east Van - really relaxed. There are also usually food trucks outside.

If you want to grab a quick drink on a patio (or, just a quick drink), this is a great place to stop by. There's nothing remarkable about The Charlatan except for the prices, and the amount of seating (you won't be waiting for too long), but this makes it stand out on the Drive.

If you like live music, and if you like staying up late, this is a great place to stumble into after a late-night movie at The Rio, or after the place you were at before has closed. The music can sometimes be pretty loud if it is live, so it's not the best place for conversation (great for rocking out/avoiding conversation).

A visit to East Van would not be complete without stopping by Astoria. Furthermore, there are probably some unique events here that you'd be hard-pressed to find other places. They're open late, and you're guaranteed to have a good time here.
