Why you should visit it

The fort is a re-creation of the Hudson Bay Company trading post on the Fraser River. One of the building does date to 1840. You will learn little-known history of the area and see how the traders lived and worked. There are many hands-on activities for the young and young of heart.

Special tip

It was here that James Douglas read the proclamation that created the Colony of British Columbia in 1858. The Audio guide is worth getting.
