Why locals love it
This is a quiet and relaxing park; it features a pool, beach access, an off-leash area, and lots of little trails. There's an interesting mix of industry (you can see the shipping yards), and natural beauty. There's lots to do here, and a great way to get to the beach without travelling out west.
Why you should visit it
This is a historic space in East Vancouver, and it is one of the oldest public beaches in the area. It's not frequently visited, and it is therefore a bit more relaxing than some of the beaches in West Van. If you need an afternoon to chill out (outside), this is a great place to go.
Special tip
Make sure to check the currents before swimming int he ocean. Some places are not safe.
