Why locals love it
Richmond Centre is the best mall to go to if you hate malls. It is a bit out of the way, but if you hate shopping at malls - but, are nevertheless forced (for whatever reason) to go shopping anyways - Richmond Centre is one of the best malls in the lower mainland. The store selection is acceptable, and it's a lot less crowded than other malls.
Why you should visit it
The store selection is much more limited than at Metrotown (check ahead to make sure the store you want to visit is there), but there are far fewer people here than at other malls. The sales are often a bit better, too (notably, at the beginning/end of seasons).
Special tip
Many people agree that the food court is probably one of the better mall food courts in the area.
