Located in the area between Linnaistentie, Linnaistenkuja and Rajatorpantie, on the swamp there's an old mines for collecting iron ore, nowadays the mine is filled with water. The Hämeenkylä's mine area were the most important iron ore producers in the Helsinki region. The mine is scattered around a square kilometer area.

Some of the mine wells have been destroyed and filled with water, but many are still visible. In all, the region is known to have mined iron ore from twenty places. The destination is the best-preserved as it is located in a park-like environment. Mine is also serving as a water reserve for the fire department.
The exact time of finding the iron ores in Hämeenkylä is unknown, but the first mining companies have been made in 1769. Great shoes required.
