In 1999, a small square was completed in the middle of the main axis of the Martinlaakso pedestrian center to celebrate the first world championship of formula driver Mika Häkkinen. The same year Häkkinen also renewed his championship.
The path leads along long trees and paths to the edge of the forest. The forests in the area to be restored will not be felled and the dead trees will rot in peace. The main focus of the project is the lush, approximately 10-hectare grove valley valley in the eastern part, which has been drained since the early 20th century.
The ditches were dammed in 2005 to raise the water level to its natural level.
