Why locals love it
The Ancient Landscape Park is located on the former Metla's research area plantings. A plan for the establishment of the Ancient Park in 2008 has been made in the area. At the park, there are two Stone Age residences areas: Sandåker has been archaeological excavations on the area. The park is an ancient monument protected by law.
Why you should visit it
The area of the Jokiniemi ancient park has been inhabited already during the Stone Age. The city of Vantaa wanted to build a park in the area that could be used to visualize the scenery about 5000–6000 years ago. In the Stone Age, about 4000-3200 years before the beginning of our history, the ancient park area was a very favorable living area.
