Why locals love it

The Old Church of Sipoo, St. Sigfrid's Church, was built in the 1450s. This medieval gray stone church is a very popular wedding church in the summertime. The church designer is not known. Its architecture differs from other medieval stone churches in Finland. The church is typical medieval continental styled and it´s bell tower Baroque styled.

Why you should visit it

In the Church you can still sense the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The church hall has a shrine and a wooden stock in the armory (hallway). The walls and vaulting are decorated with paintings made in the 15th century. There are also some symbols of pagan origin (which were later interpreted according to the Christian tradition).
