The Jewish Ghetto is a fascinating area. The buildings are taller than elsewhere in Venice, because Jewish were not allowed to live out of here. Even the synagogues are inside of the apartments. Shop's signs are in yiddish and in this area you can taste Jewish food.
This is the first Ghetto in history, dated back to 1516, when the Serenissima ordered the Jewish people to live in this isolated area of the city. You can visit thir unique Synagogues and the museum. Great is to see also the people living here in their typical way of dress.
