Sweet 16 Visit

Hello! Venice is the first stop in my Italy adventure with my daughter who has just turned 16! I want to ensure that she sees all there is to see and experiences lots of yummy food...like a local. We prefer to stay away from touristy restaurants. Looking for advice for our first trip to Venice so that she has an amazing time! We will be there for three days in early July.

You should surely do the "cicchetti" tour, it's a tour of different typical venitian bars where u can taste the typical "cicchetti" and have a walk through Venice (there are different tours organized that u can book on Facebook). If u want to eat the best pizza u can go to the pizzeria "Acciughetta" or "Rosso Pomodoro". If u would like the best italian gelato there is the Gelateria Venchi near San Marc square. Venice is full of very good Pasticcerie, so u can pick any one u find during your walk. If u would like to eat fish u can go on the islands (Burano,Murano or Torcello), Torcello has the best ones; there is a Trattoria and two others that are more elegant (Ponte del Diavolo the best one)... all of them have terraces and a garden and in Summer u can really enjoy yourself.

Thank you so much!
Hi Brandi! Some of the areas you can definitely visit to find great food, away from the tourist crowd is Fondamenta della Misericordia: there you have some of the best restaurants in Venice, like Paradiso Perduto, Il Timon etc...you can eat "cicheti" while you sit outside on the street or book a table. In Venice we usually eat and drink on the go, cicheti are small dishes you can eat standing. You will see!
Thank you!!!
