I booked this walking tour to show Kahlenberg to my cousin because even if I live in Vienna, I didn't know about it. Andreas was very responsive before the day replying fast to our inquiries. The tour itself was very nice, starting by taking a bus to the top of Kahlenberg. There we enjoyed the view from above and got some interesting historial facts about the area. Then we went to 2 Heurigers where we enjoyed white house wine outside and even we were lucky that the sun went out :) In the next Heuriger we decided to be inside because it was already cold. It was a very cozy hut where we had some more wine and typical austrian food. Afterwards we returned to the bottom of the hill to catch a bus back to the metro station. It was a very nice afternoon and we definitely recommend it!

Description

We’ll start our tour at the Heiligenstadt subway station. The meeting point is in front of the Anker bakery. We’ll take a bus to the top of Kahlenberg, the highest hill in Vienna, for a beautiful view of the city.

I’ll tell you a bit about the area and you can get a refreshment if needed. After a short break we’ll walk towards the D tram station where you can take a tram back to the city centre.

On the way down we’ll pass a couple of local wine taverns where you can taste some local food and wine while enjoying the view over Vienna and the Danube. The most popular wines are Grüner Veltliner (white) and Zweigelt (red). You can then choose to stay with the group or go to another tavern.

I recommend you buy a daily transport ticket for this tour if you don't already have a Vienna pass.

Had a great time with guide Andreas, he showed us some spots we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Angela & Nico
Amazing experience
The weather was not so good but our guide was friendly, helpful and patient. We tired atleast three wineyards and ate some food including wild garlic which was a new experience. It's definitely something my partner and i would do again.
