Vilnius is home to a wide variety of cafés and restaurants serving all manner of international cuisines. Although Lithuania didn’t have much of a food scene 10 years ago, nowadays we’re quite active in making quality food and good service part of our daily lives. So far it has been a successful endeavour, and although we don’t have any Michelin stars yet, we’re getting there!
If you’re a typical culture digger, there are three things you must try during your stay: Lithuanian beer, garlic bread and “šaltibarščiai“ (cold beetroot soup). This place is...different. The staff are eccentric to say the least. The beer is excellent and the food traditional. The whole place seems to have fallen into a big pot of randomness and caught everything from bombshells to living turtles in its fur. It's an experience of the most curious kind.
