Hill of Three Crosses

This hill likes crosses – the first was built in the 17th century to commemorate monks martyred in the 14th century. Today, three giant crosses built in 1989 to replace the ones that were destroyed under Soviet rule, sit at the top of the hill. It's a great place to enjoy a view of the city.

You'll have to do some climbing but the view is definitely worth the effort. Otherwise you can take the elevator for a couple of Litas. There's a small museum at the top of the tower with exhibits related to local history. If you purchase the museum ticket (LTL 5), you'll have access to the observation deck for an even better view of the city!

Everyone knows the viewpoints from Gediminas' Castle Tower Hill and Hill of Three Crosses, but Bekesh Hill is yet another good spot to stand above the city and admire the view. You can go there as sequence to your Užupis sightseeing walk. There are two other possible paths to it but I would like to share the one I discovered and know.
