Kaunas day trip - the unsung Hero

Kaunas is like a younger brother of Vilnius. Sometimes it seems to be in the shadows of the capital. But make no mistake - this is a superficial paradigm – Kaunas is a very vivid both in history and now: culture is thriving, and it’s always been the innovator vs Vilnius!

Customer feedback about Tours in Vilnius

Rating 4.9 based on 48 reviews

Nice and informative informative walk through vilnius
The tour guide Elsa took me and my girlfriend on a nice walk through Vilnius and told us many stories about Lithuania under soviet rule. We did the tour pretty much off season so it was just the three of us on the tour. We got the chance to ask all sorts of questions and got great answers and good tips on how to spend the rest of our time in Vilnius. Thank you Elsa!
Vilnius Soviet-Themed Walking Tour
Great tour!
This is quite a long tour, but well worth it. (Don't worry, there's a break for coffee). The guide is very interesting to listen to, it's not just the regular repeating of facts. We learned a lot from this tour. Fantastic stories!
Vilnius Soviet-Themed Walking Tour
We had the pleasure of a guided tour provided by one of your guides, Martyna, this sunday. It was a very inspiring tour and your tourguide Martyne made it very interesting. We took the Soviet tour.

Our guided was amazingly wonderful. Spoke English really well and had plenty of time and room for questions. Funny, knowledgeable, and just excellent. Made our short 4 day stay incredible.

Perfect way to get to know Vilnius
We were lucky, we had the best autumn weather: sunrays through the beautiful red, yellow and brown of the almost falling leaves. It made the city look even lovelier than it does normally. But even without that our tour would’ve been great; it was just the two of us because of low season, and our fantastic guide (whose name I forgot, unfortunately) changed the tour after asking what we were interested in. So we cycled through the gentrifying central station area, Uzupis, great panoramic views and the famous old town. Every stop had a good story and our guide knew a lot of old and more recent history of Lithuania, a country that has had a very turbulent history from the beginning of its existence. Highly recommendable, you’ll see a lot more in a shorter time than just walking around.

Enjoyable sports experience
If you enjoy biking and experiencing the city from a different point of view, this is a great way to start your day. The track is not super exhaustive but you should feel comfortable on a bike and be fit enough because you will be biking uphill for a good while. Just make sure to adjust the saddle height to your height so that you'll feel comfortable while biking. And keep in mind that the emphasis is on the mountain bike part and less on the tour part—there won't be in-depth history lessons and church visits but beautiful landscapes and forest tracks instead. Your tour guide is very friendly and accommodating and speaks good English, which makes the overall experience pleasant.

Great Mountain Bike Trip
I had a great time going on a mountain bike with Avitalis last week. Given that it was a rainy day, I was a little bit hesitant to bike in the chilly rain, but the sky turned blue and it looked like a good chance to ride. We pedaled through eastern Vilnius, through Uzupis, some overlooks of the city, and then some soft downhills and uphills before ending up in Belmontas. The trip was about 2-2.5 hours.

Avitalis was a very knowledgeable and kind guide, even taking care to lend me his rain jacket and watching out for me as we crossed some busy intersections. Highly recommended and I would have like to do the city tour the next day--unfortunately, it rained even more!

Ieva brought a forgotten era to life
For anyone in Vilnius, be you a regular visitor, a weekend guest or even a local, I highly recommend the Soviet walking tour. Ieva was the guide during my trip and she brought such charisma and charm to what is a dark chapter in the memory of many Lithuanians. Her passion for history, especially the human aspect of it lead me to learn many things that you can't read about in travel guides or online articles. She was happy to answer any question and suggested movies and further reading to build on what we discussed. Whether you have just arrived in Vilnius or are at the end of your stay, don't hesitate to go, you'll soon see the city in a different light.

This was a fabulous way to see Vilnius. Veronika's fascinating tour was amazingly relaxed and informative. She loves to teach and share perspectives -- both about modern Lithuanian society but also about transition from an occupied country to an independent nation. The tour included a stop for traditional Lithuanian food, and she was able to give other great insider tips for the rest of my time in the city. They also rented me a bike for the day following my tour, and gave me suggestions on where to go biking -- and I had a wonderful day biking out into the countryside north of Vilnius. I would recommend this tour enthusiastically.

Amazing walking tour! Definitely must-do in Vilnius!
My friend and I went on this walking tour and it was truly enjoyable. Without it, we would have never learnt so much about Vilnius, nor notice all the little beauty and quirkiness of the city. Our walk through Užipis and Old Town was well planned.

Alina, our guide, was very detailed, enthusiastic and patient with us. She was also really knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. Unlike other walking tours I've been on, she was really interested in sharing the history and stories of Vilnius and it was just so nice.

Totally recommend if you are in the city! X

Fascinating insight
Our guide Arminas was just brilliant - we met him on an extremely cold day (minus 20 degrees) and his beard was all frosty! He even brought extra clothing to share in case we got cold. He showed us all around some really interesting and 'off the beaten track' parts of Vilnius and gave a fascinating insight into its history. He kept the pace up so we didn't get frozen and we stopped at an ex-Soviet hotel for coffee. Arminus was charming, enthusiastic and it was a real delight to spend time with him. Thank you.

Insight into Lithuania
Leva was our guide and she really gave us a very interesting and detailed account of post-war life in Vilnius, combining personal anecdotes with huge historical events. She drew on the city's buildings, artworks and stories to provide us with a thought-provoking tour. It was very moving and uplifting to see how the people of Lithuanian have survived through their strength of character, stoicism, humour and religious beliefs.
Thank you very much for a wonderful experience.

We spend a weekend in Vilnius and booked the "Soviet Vilnius" private tour for 9 people. Our tour guide Martyna was absolutely fantastic! In 4 hours we covered everything from Communist remains over wooden hut district to Little Manhattan highrisers and back to Soviet era and Lithuanian independence. We learned about different eras in Lithuanian history, culture and even movies.
This tour was the highlight of my trip and I can only highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vilnius.

I am native VIlnius dweller, and I suggested the Ghost tour with Promo Day to my business partners from Germany. The walking tour took two hours in Vilnius Old Town, visiting places mentioned in local ancient myths and legends. The guide was inteligent, witty and very expressive. Many mysterious facts about my city were unknown even for me. And my guest were extremely excited about the tour, as they did not expect to gain knowladge in a such playful manner.

My friends and I booked the Soviet tour in Vilnius which was really interesting. We left the Old Town and explored the other side of the city which has lots of interesting stories too. Our guide Martina (sorry if it's wrong :) was the best. She was not only knowledgeable but interesting and fun to listen. I would definitely recommend everyone to join this tour. Just be sure to book it in advance.
