Sam's Place is a used bookstore, fair trade cafe, and live music venue run almost entirely by volunteers. Located in Elmwood, just a short bus ride from downtown, this cafe serves yummy, locally sourced and homemade lunch fare, pastries and desserts. A free admission Celtic jam night happens the last Friday of every month!
Why you should visit it
This little cafe is all about serving the local community. Regular film and music nights, book themed food nights, a fantastic book selection, and a cozy atmosphere all make a visit worthwhile. All proceeds go to a charitable organization.
Special tip
The sandwiches are delicious! Hours of operation are not what you would expect, so be sure to check before you head out. Free parking is available.
