Each Zagreber must have a photo of himself sitting by the poet, so why not join the club? You'll probably notice more sculpted dedications to Croatian writers, which is a true sign of our rich heritage in literature. Since it's not available in other languages, the sculptures are the closest you can get to feel the influence of those people.
If you take the funicular to the upper town, follow the road to your right to reach the poet sculpture.
