Hi, I am Jakov, Croatian 3/1 tour/local guide, professional driver and travel professional. Being a people person and very passionate about history and culture, I have always been aspiring for and pursuing new experiences. My greatest pleasure has always been travelling and exploring the world. I have been traveling in different countries getting to know their cultures for more than 15 years now. However, during past few years I have been working as a tour guide and a tour leader throughout Croatia and surrounding region which ultimately became my most favorite occupation. It has been a dream come true when I got the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and passion for my country with my dear guests from all over the world. Sharing the glory and the beauty of Croatia and our region with my future friends continues to be my greatest joy.

The tour begins with a 2-hour drive to Lake Bled, the famous glacial lake that surrounds Slovenia’s only natural island. The emerald-green water, enchanting Church of the Assumption, medieval Bled Castle perched atop a rocky cliff, and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps make the town of Bled postcard perfect.

We’ll take a walk along the lakeside promenade and enjoy the fairy-tale scenery. There’s even a legend that says it was the fairies that summoned the water from the surrounding mountains to flood the valley, and this is how the lake and the island came to be.

Next, we’ll drive up to the town of Bled to visit the museum at Bled Castle – the oldest castle in Slovenia, rising 130 metres above the lake.

Following a tour of Bled Castle, we’ll stop to enjoy the town’s famous ‘cremeschnitte’, a cake that has been made according to the original recipe since 1953.

We’ll then head to Ljubljana, whose charm lays in millennia of architectural history: picturesque bridges, the vast Tivoli Park, beautiful baroque façades, remains of the Roman city of Emona, and the medieval Ljubljana Castle.

After a tour of the city, we’ll drive back to Zagreb.

Lake Bled and Ljubljana with a difference
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Day Trip to Slovenia from Zagreb)
A fabulous day for my cousin and I touring two of the highlights of Slovenia yesterday with Jakov! We couldn’t have asked for a better guide to spend the day with!! Jakov’s enthusiasm, humour, personalised attention, knowledge and story telling surpassed our expectations. He made sure the day was what we wanted combined with the best that these two places had to offer, providing information in both English and Croatian.
Thank you from Mare and Lisa for making our day a memorable one with lots of laughs!
Awesome day, one we’ll remember always! ❤️

Outstanding Day Trip
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Experience Istria in a day tour from Zagreb)
Marko was phenomenal. Prompt, open to input on what I wanted out of the day. Friendly, knowledgable...enriched the trip to Istria.
Amazing tour, with a fantastic guide
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Day Trip from Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar and Ston)
Marko was a fabulous tour guide, it felt more like a day out with a friend. He had a vast knowledge of the history of the area, and shared many stories from his own life which really brought the tour alive. I really couldn’t recommend him or the trip enough. It was a great way to see more of the area, rather than just getting a direct transfer. We really enjoyed the eclectic mix of cultures in Mostar, and even saw the bridge divers take a dip in the river, which was a bit of a shock! Definitely book this trip if you can.
Professional and Friendly Service
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Experience Istria in a day tour from Zagreb)
We had a private tour for two and our guide Marko was very engaging and professional. He was well informed about Croatia and its history and the conversation flowed freely. His driving was excellent and we were very pleased with the visits to Trsat Castle and Motovun - I would recommend this company as local guides.
