A tour to truly take you back in time! Scientifically known as Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis, the Krapina prehistoric man was discovered all the way back in 1899, when geological and paleontological research started on Hušnjakovo Hill in Krapina.
On this tour, you will have the chance to visit your "long lost cousins", who were living in this area about 125,000 years ago. The new Krapina Neanderthal Museum is a unique complex, with the museum's architecture evoking the habitat of prehistoric man. You will be able to learn all about the findings of this initial dig, and what it meant to our understanding of our ancestors and origins.
Our next stop will give you the chance to explore the spectacular Trakošćan Castle. You'll be able to look through the castle museum which has a permanent exhibition detailing the lives of royals during the medieval age.
This tour will also give you the opportunity to discover the wonderful heritage and history of the northern part of Croatia, learning about local stories and legends along the way.
