Hi, I am Jakov, Croatian 3/1 tour/local guide, professional driver and travel professional. Being a people person and very passionate about history and culture, I have always been aspiring for and pursuing new experiences. My greatest pleasure has always been travelling and exploring the world. I have been traveling in different countries getting to know their cultures for more than 15 years now. However, during past few years I have been working as a tour guide and a tour leader throughout Croatia and surrounding region which ultimately became my most favorite occupation. It has been a dream come true when I got the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and passion for my country with my dear guests from all over the world. Sharing the glory and the beauty of Croatia and our region with my future friends continues to be my greatest joy.

Description

Morning departure from Zagreb at 8.30-9 am.
Half hour drive to reach our first destination – The Medieval Town of Samobor. This cute little medieval town is like a town-museum. Each house, square or street tells its own history. It is especially known for its Cremeschnitte cake, Mustarda, Bermet liquor, crystal.

Upon the tour of the old town we are going to visit Samobor crystal factory where you will get to see crystal cutting presentation. You will get to see a rare skill nowadays – hand made cut glass. These masters have been passing their skills from one generation to another for centuries.

After Samobor we are going towards Plesivica wine road where we are going to enjoy its beautiful countryside landscape with green hills and vineyards, its chalets on each hill and most of all its fabulous wines. Some of Croatia’s best sparkling wine is produced in these parts . We shall have wine tasting at one of the well known local wineries so prepare your taste buds for some extraordinary feeling.

Expect to return to Zagreb by 3-5 pm

Outstanding Day Trip
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Experience Istria in a day tour from Zagreb)
Marko was phenomenal. Prompt, open to input on what I wanted out of the day. Friendly, knowledgable...enriched the trip to Istria.

Amazing tour, with a fantastic guide
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Day Trip from Split to Dubrovnik via Mostar and Ston)
Marko was a fabulous tour guide, it felt more like a day out with a friend. He had a vast knowledge of the history of the area, and shared many stories from his own life which really brought the tour alive. I really couldn’t recommend him or the trip enough. It was a great way to see more of the area, rather than just getting a direct transfer. We really enjoyed the eclectic mix of cultures in Mostar, and even saw the bridge divers take a dip in the river, which was a bit of a shock! Definitely book this trip if you can.
Professional and Friendly Service
for Jakov 'The Guide'’s tour (Experience Istria in a day tour from Zagreb)
We had a private tour for two and our guide Marko was very engaging and professional. He was well informed about Croatia and its history and the conversation flowed freely. His driving was excellent and we were very pleased with the visits to Trsat Castle and Motovun - I would recommend this company as local guides.
