Brasov has never really prided oneself with an image of a party town but there is still a lot of places to visit. Unlike a lot of other cities, Brasov’s local party animals don’t stay away from the old town – strada Republicii and the streets taking off from it are locals’ favourites! Brasov is covered with fun dodgy sidestreet bars but you can also find lounges. The clubs are mainly outside of walking distance but here comes one excellent thing about Brasov – the taxis are reasonably priced and the drivers are nice even if they don’t speak that much English. Beers are roughly 5-8 lei (1-2 euros) depending on is it tap and is it local, cocktails start from 10lei and go up to 15lei (~3,5 euros). Nightclubs usually charge for entrance but there are also flyers and occasional free days.
