Slavín - Things To Do in Bratislava - LikeALocal Guide

Why locals love it?

Slavín was constructed between 1957 and 1960 as a monument to fallen Soviet Army soldiers during World War II who liberated Bratislava from German fascists. On its walls you can see Slovak cities with dates of their liberation.

Why you should visit it

In order to get to Slavín you have to go through a quarter full of nice houses and embassies, so a stroll up the hill is really worth it. The monument is located near the city center and boasts a wonderful view over Bratislava.

Especially beautiful in the morning! Go watch the sunrise while enjoying a cup of home-brewed coffee/tea. Can be a bit chilly up there If its windy, so bring a jacket just in case!
