Bites & Sights Bratislava Food Tour

Normal guy trying to enjoy life. I was living with a younger boyfriend/partner with whom I was happy and our family supported us, until in December 2016 he passed away of lymphoma. I am running my own eshop with flower bulbs, ornamental and fruit shrubs and trees, perenials, grasses as well as an unusual hostel in our greenhouse. In my free time I am working as a tourist guide presenting several tours. My other leisure activities are hiking, riding a bicycle, swimming, walking with dog or meeting and talking to foreign people. In 2013, I started an association called "Vypestuj Dobro" (= Grow Good), which tries to encourage people to share their surplus of garden produce with the families with children in need. I really enjoy working on it.Read more

It is definitely off the tourist trail, we were the only ones there with cameras! I would recommend this tour as Erich being a local was able to tell us some of the history of the market and share his insights into local life in Bratislava. His English is very good.
The food was local and authentic and there was lots of it. We wouldn't have know where to start with all of the food on offer but Erich explained what we were buying and a bit of the history. We have plenty of time to wander around the market before sitting down together with all of the food Erich had purchased as well as a couple of glasses of wine to share lunch together. Arrive hungry!
We had a lovely sunny Saturday lunchtime tour which I would recommend to anyone who likes food and is spending time in Bratislava.
My friend was pregnant (found out after we had booked the tour)so it was difficult to know what a pregnant woman can't eat but I think Lucie was great about it. Really enjoyed the food. The one thing I would say is it would be nice to know what we are covering as I wasn't sure what to expect so just a brief outline in a mail or at the very start of the tour of how the time will be spent, e.g first we are going to see nuts, then cheese, then wine.
I loved the certificate at the end, it was a lovely touch.
