This place is not an Argentinian steakhouse as the name suggests, but rather a basic and unassuming bar in the heart of the Old City. Low prices and the fact that it existed well before the Old City became touristy make it a favourite amongst locals. It’s practically the only place in Bucharest where you can get a glimpse of the past.
The simple tables, non-existent service and lack of décor contrasts greatly with the trendy modern bars found throughout the Old City. Apart from the low prices, this bar attracts a mixed crowd of students, rockers, hipsters and pensioners with its friendly atmosphere.
Many people start their evenings with cheap beers at Argentin Bar and then head to the famous local party spot ‘Club A’ next door.
