A cosy green place
Botanic Garden 14
Why locals love it
The Botanic Garden is more than 150 years old and has a special place in the hearts of Bucharest people. Children enjoy watching the fish, turtles and ducklings in the small ponds. Students explore the glasshouses with exotic plants. Lovers seek the hidden spots behind the old trees. Seniors enjoy a walk on the peaceful alleys.
Why you should visit it
Apart from the native species, a vast array of nonnative trees and flowers are acclimated and thrive in the garden. The largest greenhouse is set up as a tropical forest. A botanic museum with over 5,000 species of plants is housed by a recently renovated beautiful building in the Brancovan style.
The Botanic Garden occasionally hosts various events like World Environment Day, flower exhibitions, photo contests and open-air film festivals.
