Located in Sinaia, a picturesque mountainous region not far from Bucharest, the Peleş Castle delights the eye with its mosaic of architectural styles. King Carol I of Romania designed it as a royal summer residence and meeting venue for the most important foreign delegations. Both Peleş Castle and the smaller Pelişor Castle will take you back a century into the discrete world of Romanian royalty.
Later, we’ll visit the Sinaia Monastery, a 17th-century monument commonly called the “Cathedral of the Carpathians”, to catch a glimpse of Eastern Orthodox worship.
To preserve the atmosphere a little longer, well then visit the Urlateanu Manor where you’ll have the chance to taste some exquisite wines.
