Why locals love it
The Gellert Hill presents at it's summit, the Citadel has even been discovered to have a Roman tower built where it stands today. It has over time gotten a bad rap due to the Habsburgs in 1850 using it as a means to intimiate the population. The public demanded it's destruction but it was rebuilt in 1960 with museums, a hotel and a restaurant.

Why you should visit it
The Citadel offers super museums including: the Hungarian Saints - photo exhibition, Budapest Anno 1850-1945, Bunker-Wax Museum And Exhibition, Saint Gellert Memorial Park, The History of Gellert HIll and the Military HIstory Museum. It's summit yields a fantastic vantage point and a cool walkabout on the walls of the Citadel.
