Why locals love it
Every tourist goes to Margaret island if they'd like to see a park in Budapest and stay in the center enjoying the view of the city, but where do locals go? Well, lucky people of Buda go to Kopaszi gát (Kopaszi dam) where they can truly hide from the smog, noise and bustle of the downtown.
Why you should visit it
This is one of the newest, greenest parks and nicest places in Budapest to organize a picknick and rest in the sunset after a long day of sightseeing. You can also find nice restaurants here but as a local, I would recommend you to bring your own (Hungarian) bottle of wein from the store and only buy a töki pompos (Hungarian pizza) here.
Special tip
After sunset you can also visit two nearby open-air party places situated on the two sides of Rákóczy bridge: ZP in Buda and Budapest Park in Pest.
