Why locals love it
Pest has many ruin pubs – every second place which has some oldschool/vintage lamps and damaged walls calls itself ruin something. However Szatyor on the Buda side near the Gellért Bath & Hotel has cultural background as well. :) They always have temporary exhibitions upstairs to promote local artists.
Why you should visit it
It has a history: Frigyes Karinthy named the basement night club (part of Hadik Coffee House (it is still next door) Szatyor (plastic bag) – the atmosphere reminded here to that. The walls are painted by themes of folk tales and hints to Hungarian culture. In the toilet you can find the works of local street artist Miss KK.
