Why locals love it

The view from the Venizelos Tombs is stunning, you can see all of Chania. Great place to watch the sunset, have a nice walk in the area and take some panoramic photos. There is also a small orthodox church in the park.

Why you should visit it

You can have a romantic stroll or just relax and enjoy the view. Also the tomb of Elefterios Venizelos Prime Minister of Greece, serving from 1910 to 1920 and from 1928 to 1933 is there. Also an interesting sight is the a broken statue you can find while wondering at the park.

Special tip

You can combine your visit there with a stop at the nearby cafe Koukouvagia where locals go to mainly for the sweets.

Even if you don't know who these great Greek statesmen were, come at dusk and watch the sunset over the city of Chania. Visit the 15th century chapel of Profitis Helias at the same time.
