Deepak is a great host of India. We found him to have lots of information on the history of India which was very interesting. We felt safe at all times and appreciated him sharing a variety of information on Delhi to help us with the rest of our stay. The food we tried was delicious (even though we got full so quick!!) and the streets were exciting and very unique. Big thanks again to Deepak for the great experience. Best wishes to you for the future - Tara and Colton :)

Description

What better way to explore a city than its food! Explore India and its culture and tradition in this amazing food and heritage walk of the glorious city of Old Delhi! You tour will start with your guide picking you up from your hotel and taking you on a metro ride.

After reaching Old Delhi, your first stop will be at Gurudwara Sis Ganj, (Sikh Gurudwara with an important historic reference) where you can learn about the community kitchen service!

Begin your food walk with, some sweet jalebis (a deep-fried sweet dish made by cornflour and sugar syrup) and samosa (fried triangular bread stuffed with potatoes) from a 100-year-old shop. Walk ahead with your guide to try Raj Kachori (kind of chat filled with fresh yogurt, sweet and sour sauces in a crispy edible bowl!)

Once you’re done here, get ready to stuff some gorgeous paranthas (Indian flatbread filled with a variety of stuffing’s like cheese, cashews, chili, and lemon to name a few!), Kulia ki chaat (different fruit bowls filled with chickpeas and masala) and a very unique fruit sandwich.

After this, walk towards the spice market to see the whole world of spices and then fill your belly some more with dishes like rabri-faluda

This tour made our trip to India!
Deepak perfected our trip to India by his energetic display of Old Delhi street foods and his heart felt love of his country's foods. We tasted traditional and newly on the scene experimental street foods like Kulfi. Multi is a spiced fruit juice that's frozen like ice cream. So refreshing. We highly recommend taking Deepak's tour, that's more than street food. The temple tour and tuh-tuk rides added so much to the cultural side. Go, book this tour now!

very impressed with our knowledgeable guide
we had a wonderful time on our street food and walking tour. our guide was prompt, well organized, efficient and fun to talk with. his English was excellent and he had a lot of interesting things to say about the area, its history and architecture. we particularly enjoyed both getting to use the subway and a rickshaw. thanks for a wonderful introduction to old Delhi.

A wonderful excursion in Delhi with a very friendly and well-informed guide Suraj!
We really enjoyed our trip to Old Delhi with Loco Aventura Travel company!
We would suggest this trip to every tourist who wants to see the real Old Delhi and to know more about the Indian culture and traditions! During the excursion which was even 3 hours longer than first planned, we have seen the most important and beautiful places of Old Delhi! Our guide came to our hotel to pick us up and brought us back exactly to the same place so there was nothing to worry about! We also tried some Indian food which was very special and delicious! A wonderful experience! The Old Delhi Heritage Walk with Suraj made our visit to India really unforgettable! We hope to be back one day soon and to be a chance to go on the next adventure with Loco Adventura Travel! Thank you once again!

Entertaining and eye-opening!
We only had a small amount of time in Delhi so the Old Delhi Walk was the perfect fit with our schedule. We were met at our hotel by Suraj and taken on a cycle rickshaw to the Metro station where we then headed into the Old Delhi bazaar.
It is a crazy, eye-opening experience to see how it all functions. It shouldn't, especially when you see the wiring above you, but it does...somehow.
There is a pulse and energy that is unrivaled and it is fascinating. Unlike bazaar in North Africa and South East Asia you are surprisingly not hassled that much to go in peoples shops which was surprising, they take no for an answer. We went to an old street filled with heritage properties and a Jain (a hindu religion) temple then on to Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib (Sikh temple) which for me was the highlight. We had to take off our shoes and walk barefoot through the water (clean) before entering, we also had a headscarf to cover out head. Inside it was fabulous with music and seeing people pray, we then moved to the soup kitchen where they provide meals for the poor, needy and anybody else 3 times a day 7 days a week, completely run by volunteers and funded by donations people leave in the temple. Fantastic.
We helped make chapattis amidst the steaming cauldrons of food and see them served up.
We then headed to the spice market by auto-rickshaw where you fully get to experience the hair-raising traffic and "give way"/horn blowing system. We then had a late lunch before being returned to our hotel. Suraj was great and informative without being overbearing. Just the right amount of information and answered our questions expertly when asked. We were only taken to one shop specifically with the suggestion to buy something which was to be expected and is common, however it didn't ruin our experience.
Overall it was a great tour and excellent value compared to others and I would recommend. They also have a range of time options so you are able to fit it into your schedule.

Excellent
Had a wonderful Historic Heritage walk through Old Delhi with this very friendly guide. Make you feel relaxed and comfortable in the busiest city in the world. Taking good care for traffic and travelling by classic tuk-tuk, modern metro and walking. See Jami Mashid Mosk, Sikh temple, a beautiful market in small streets, spices market and enjoyed Indian snacks and delicious food together.
