Locals avoid the touristy tapas-places along Gran Vía and go to the 'backstreets' for the more authentic food. The Fat Fish is one of those and a very popular tapas-spot in the lively Calle Pez. At the white marble tables surrounded by black and white jazz posters, people enjoy their tasty croquetas, jamón and tortilla and a drink.
This is a great place to try the whole authentic tapas-experience and the food is excellent. A non-touristy bar, where the staff is friendly and happy to help with your choices. Take your pick among the classic dishes and share among your friends or family.
The fried eggplant with honey is just delicious.
