Why locals love it
This is one of two big animal parks in Madrid, and Faunia has a different approach and focus on specific groups of animals. Here are no lions, tigers and giraffes like in most zoos. Instead people come here to experience a wide range of birds, insects and reptiles, as well as unique areas with night-active animals or animals which are poisonous.

Why you should visit it
If you are travelling with kids, this is the perfect day out in Madrid. Located within the reach of the metro, this is a family-friendly and highly entertaining animal park for all ages. Watch the sealions perform in their arena, see the colourful parrots enjoy the tropical rain, or try to make the giant butterfly land on your head.
Special tip
Remember to bring sunscreen and hats during the summer months, as naturally you will be walking outside a lot. Opening times differ each month!
