A double Pisa

Puerta de Europa

Why locals love it

Known as 'The Gate of Europe' the two leaning bank office towers at Plaza de Castilla, are like a double up modern version of the famous Pisa tower. Their 15 degree inclination is made on purpose though, and gave Madrid some very unique modern architecture years before the nearby Cuatro Torres were finished.

Why you should visit it

Whether you are interested in architecture or a passionate photographer, this is one of the hotspots in Madrid. A spectacular view with the leaning towers, topped up by the golden 'obelisque' adorning the roundabout in the middle of the square. Try to find the best angle or to catch the four towers in the background.

Special tip

The towers are also known as the KIO Towers, and were the first inclinded skyscrapers in the world.
