Locals don't usually wander through this place, but if they do, they are looking for candles to make someone fall in love with them, saint death statues to praise the lord of witches, skulls for some magical ritual, all sort of weeds and ingredients for a wicked brew, or unusual animals such as crows or crocodiles.
Why you should visit it
A surreal place where you'll find aisles dedicated entirely to magical candles, brew ingredients, skulls, goblins, bizarre idols, and unusual animal pets. If you like what's weird then visit this place. It is better to visit during Día de Muertos season.
Special tip
The market itself is not dangerous, but the surrounding area called Merced is. Just watch your belongings and don't get lost inside.
