Founded in 1962, Nani is a famous Jewish-Tunisian bakery offering oriental as well as French pastries. It has a great atmosphere and feels like a family business. I particularly love the oriental pastries coated with honey (the "zlabia" for instance) and the almond cakes.

If you visit Belleville, be sure to stop by Nani. Over the years it has become a local institution. When you enter, you take a tray and serve yourself. The staff will gladly help you if you have trouble deciding. It can be really tough choosing from such a diverse range of pastries!
During the Jewish Easter period they sell almond syrup. It’s a bit sweet but very tasty.
