My little art tour takes place in the most famous gallery of Russian classical art (up to the beginning of the 20th century). The State Tretyakov Gallery houses a unique collection of Russian art, including masterpieces that date back 1000 years.
The gallery was founded by Russian merchant and patron of the arts, Pavel Tretyakov. He donated his collection to the city of Moscow in 1892. The State Tretyakov Gallery has since become a world-famous museum. Nowadays it contains more than 170,000 works by Russian artists, from early religious paintings to modern pieces.
I can also give you some sightseeing tips for Moscow, especially if you’re interested in art and history.
