Why locals love it
The Old Peter, how the locals call this church, is the oldest church in Munich. It is perfectly located next to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt so even many locals go in there every once in a while to escape the big city hastle, especially when they have visitors in town to show them their Munich from on top of the spire.
Why you should visit it
The church's spire is the best viewing point in Munich with the whole city beneath you and the alps in the background. You just have to climb 306 steps but the view from the 96m high tower is very rewarding.
Special tip
Ask in your hotel / hostel if there is "Föhn" (Foehn wind) on the day of your visit. You will get an amazing view on the Alps.
