It is the landmark of Munich, and the highest building of the city center. To ensure this, the residents voted for a law which doesn't allow any higher building in the center of Munich.
Why you should visit it
Severely damaged in World War II, the interior of the Gothic style cathedral has been restored in a very modern way. The stained glass windows are stunning. It is also a quiet refuge quite near to Marienplatz.

Look out for the tomb of emperor Ludwig IV of Bavaria and the 'Devil's Footprint'
