This almost hidden little stony beach on the Isar is a favorite among the locals of my neighborhood and around. It's very easy to get to as it's right off of the main bike and pedestrian path that runs through the little forest along the east bank of the river. It's very central within the city, and it also has a great view to boot!

If you're looking to get the local summer vibe - grab a few beers (and something to keep them together in the water so they keep cool), some picnic trimmings from the supermarket, and head down to this little beach around midday. This is a great spot to beat the heat in Munich and enjoy an afternoon in the sun, splashing in the water.
If you don't want to pack a picnic or can't, just grab your spot and head to the adjacent Muffatwerk Biergarten. Water shoes will be very helpful!
