Why locals love it
An easy-going meeting spot right along the Isar (though the river isn't visible from the Biergarten) with big portions of great traditional dishes and of course, fantastic beer. The location is what makes this spot unique though - it's right next to a little stone beach on the Isar, with a view of St. Lukas Cathedral across the water.

Why you should visit it
Full of locals and some wandering tourists, Muffatwerk is a great spot right at the water's edge (almost!). It has all your classics, but the important part is the location. It's right on the riverside path, across from a small stone beach, which has a great view of the river, and St. Lukas' Cathedral across the water.
Special tip
If you visit Munich, you should take the time to grab a couple to-go beers, and walk along the Isar path. Muffatwerk is a great rest stop for snacks!
