This museum is a source of pride for the local population. It’s a journey through the history of rail travel in Italy, from the king’s trains up to the present day. It offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples, is very educational for children and is an amazing and relaxing place for adults too.
Overlooking the sea just a few steps from Naples, this museum features several pavilions dedicated to different periods in rail history. There are scale models of historic trains and lots of locomotives to admire, touch and explore.
Getting to Pietrarsa can be tricky. The bus that departs from central station is the cheapest and most comfortable option.
