Constructed in 1912, the Municipal House is one of the most famous Art Nouveau buildings in Prague and arguably one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The exterior of the building is full of allegorical art and stucco. The interiors are amazingly beautiful, too.
Today, the building is used as concert hall, ballroom, civic building, and as the location of posh cafes and restaurants. The most important concerts of the classical music Prague Spring festival take place there. Historically, it was the place of the declaration of the Czechoslovak independence in 1918.
