Bergs Bazaar

Why locals love it

It was built between the years 1887-1900 by Kristaps Bergs, one of Latvia's first modern real estate developers. After the fifty year long Soviet neglect, the Berg Bazaar is once again fulfilling its founder's vision - combining residential, commercial and retail activities in a single complex.

Why you should visit it

Berg Bazaar was Riga’s answer to the big trading arcades of Europe. Originally a high society living and shopping area, it still carries a bit of that vibe. Quiet place with great, reasonably priced restaurants, Latvian fashion, design and bakeries. Also an eco food market!
