Family-run bakery in Pārdaugava

Bulka

Why locals love it

Bulka is Old Town's Kuuka Cafe little sister, located across the Daugava River, in the quiet Pārdaugava. It's a family-run bakery - Kristaps is responsible for bread, his wife Evija is the pastry chef. Here you can get different kinds of fresh bread (baguette, sourdough, with different seeds, olives, walnuts), as well as cakes, croissants, cookies.

Why you should visit it

Although located far from centre, Bulka attracts visitors from both coasts of Daugava. Locals in slippers come for a freshly baked loaf of bread. The interior combines some nice vintage pieces (lamps, chairs from old sewing factory). At weekends until 2 PM they serve brunch with fried and scrambled eggs, salads, pancakes and their famous pastries.

Special tip

They also have a good selection of wines, Latvian beer (try Zoltners!) and specialty coffee, roasted in Latvia's Andrito Roastery.
