Why locals love it
Nowhere else in the world you can't see so close so huge abandoned military objects, like two Irbene Radio Telescopes. The biggest one is as large as 12-story building. I like to go there every year, also because the road leading to Irbene is magnificent and goes through other marvellous points of Latvia the cape of Kolka and Jurmala resort town
Why you should visit it
I like the feeling when I am there. It is like I somehow connected to the space and probably alien life because locators are used now by scientists, also for searching of the extraterrestrial life since Soviet army left military locators when they had withdrawn from Latvia in the first part of 1990s
Special tip
If the weather is nice, it is the great to make a picnic somewhere in the middle of the road there.
