New creative district
Tallinn Street Quarter2
Why locals love it
In Soviet times this used to be a depot for ambulance cars. Now this industrial area is managed by Free Riga movement that helps revive abandoned houses. Several bars and art venues have opened here - Tallinas Pagalms, as well as a branch of the popular Ezītis Miglā bar, art venue Tu jau zini kur (You know where), street food court (from May 2019).
Why you should visit it
One entrance to the Tallinn Street Quarter is from the adjoining Miera Street, opposite Rocket Bean Roastery (look for the neon sign "Paštaisītas patikšanas" - "Self-made pleasures). While the well-known "Miera Street Republic" is growing older and quieter, the hipsterish Tallinn Street Quarter is buzzing with life, especially in summer.
During daytime you can find many graffitis here, done by local and international artists.
