Why locals love it
Democraticos is a very traditional place to go in Lapa, it was opened in 1867 and hosted a lot of antique carnival parties. Nowadays is one of the best places to enjoy great and tradicional brazilian music. The most famous day is on wednesday night, that is forró (brazilian roots) night.

Why you should visit it
It's the best ballroom in the city, where you can see beautiful dancing and enjoy great music. The music here are the best in terms of forró music. Everyone is super friendly and open to dance with beginners, don't be shy and ask someone to teach you some basic steps. They have a safe storage places, so you can dance without have to carry you bag.

Arrive early to pay less in the ticket, there is a list on facebook where you can put your name and pay even less.
