Why locals love it
Estação Botafogo isn't the best movie theater in the city, or the cleanest, or the most comfortable. But this venerable cinematic institution deserves some credit for its great film selection and cult atmosphere since 1995.
Why you should visit it
Over the years, Rio has lost many of its street cinemas while the shopping centers have increased their big screens with the hollywood blockbusters. Estação has 3 little charming screens with a great selection of independent films.
Special tip
Once a month they a host a special event called "Marathon". An all-night event with movie screaning, DJ, coffee and cake in the end.
