Although it’s a simple place with unremarkable décor, the odour that wafts from La Renella into the surrounding streets always tempts locals inside. The freshly baked pizzas, cakes and cookies are irresistible, as are the delicious wood-fired breads. You can be sure that whenever you’re in Trastevere this place will be open, even at night.

If you’d like to sample some traditional Italian baked goods, come here. It’s one of the best bakeries in Rome as declared by a national jury. They offer pizza by the slice made from authentic ingredients, as well as cakes and "ciambelline al vino" (typical Italian wine cookies). Take some home and dunk them in a glass of decent red wine!
